To encourage users to actively listen to Melos Studio’s music contents, which will also motivate users, creators or artists to upload their music contents. Deliver more application scenarios for music.

Background:
Melos Studio’s Listen-to-arn is the first attempt in the music NFT marketplace, which will enable Melos Studio to break the ice and spread in the market effectively. At the same time, Listen-to-Earn will increase the token application scenario, maintain the dynamic balance between token production and consumption, and support its sustainable development.

Therefore, Listen to Earn can be a bridge to bring people closer to blockchain technology, expand Melos Studio’s influence and increase the community’s activity. Melos Studio will collaborate with more communities and crypto projects to contribute to the music scene’s development. Listen-to-Earn can spread more knowledge and news about music through the crypto market.

Operating Instructions
Melos Studio will launch the Listen-to-Earn campaign, which will release record players and records exclusively for Melos Studio, obtained through blind box opening and secondary market purchases. Users can create records by themselves, creating their records freely.

Roadmap/plan of the proposal
The Melos Studio team will develop a unique turntable mystery box and vinyl record for the Listen to earn campaign. Users can buy the blind box, open the mystery box to get the turntable and play the vinyl records on demand for mining. The mining time of a single record player is capped at 1 hour per day. After reaching 1 hour, you can listen to the songs. Users can spend $MELOS on upgrading the turntable or playing vinyl records on demand. Users can play free vinyl records directly on any turntable, and the mining efficiency will vary depending on the turntable and vinyl record. Cord players can be bought and sold on the secondary market, and they need to pay the transaction fee. Also, Users can rent record players, and they also need to pay an amount as a rental fee.

Nowadays, there are two types of products on the market about “Listen to earn”. One offers tokens award based on the purchase or staking of Music NFTs. The other is to offer rewards to listeners based on streaming plays. An example of the latter is an activity by decentralized streaming platform Audius, but it is a one-time reward for a week-long task.

The product of this proposal is a combination of NFT and listening behavior.

According to the proposal, I have the following questions:

  • What is the relationship between the Melos marketplace’s Music NFTs and “Records”?
    Can Melos provide a sufficient number of songs to ensure that the content of the record is not too monotonous or repetitive, while Audius has surpassed ONE MILLION tracks?

What does this mean? Need to mine for 1 hour first before you can listen to songs? This sounds weird. I think what the proposal is trying to say is that the “listen to earn” limit is 1 hour per day, right?

Is there a rating for the record player itself when the mystery box is opened?
What is the rating of a record based on?
Is there a limit to the number of levels in the upgrade process? I mean Level 1-100 or only N, R, SR or SSR?

According to the relationship between what running shoes are to running and what record players are to music. Obviously, this product references the STEPN.
Last week, STEPN released an official article reflecting on its game system, which mentions many issues worth thinking about.

First, it’s about cheating. Stepn has Anti-Cheating System (SMAC), which can be used to authenticate the workout process through technologies such as GPS. In traditional streaming platform, clickbaiting is already common. Now, in “Listen-to-Earn”, how to authenticate the process of listening to songs to prevent cheating?

Related to this is the issue of “Mint Factorys”. How to make users more focused on the music the product offers, rather than making it become solely a financial product?

And, of course, about the token economy. This is the same problem encountered with NFT Mining, “Listen to earn” had a solely one-way inflationary growth. So, how to add a recycling (deflationary) mechanism, and how to balance this product with other scenarios of token use?

The vote has ended and based on the final results of the Listen-To-Earn Proposal by Melosians - We will be launching the Melos Listen-To-Earn feature:

Users can buy mystery boxes and get turntables NFT from them. Then they can play music on demand to mine. The maximum number of hours that a single turntable NFT with a vinyl record can be mining 1 hour per day. After that, users can listen to music but cannot earn mining rewards. Users can spend $MELOS tokens to upgrade turntable NFT or select vinyl records they like.

Turntables can be rented and purchased from the secondary market or minted from mystery boxes. Melosian can use turntable NFT and vinyl records to listen and earn $MELOS token.

Vinyl Record is a collection of music NFTs. It consists of different music selected by the Melos Studio or users. Each record can contain a maximum of 10 songs. There are different levels of vinyl records, and they enjoy different mining efficiency levels.
